What's the story behind using a D8 to knock down that corn? You know that a lawn mower could do it a bit cheaper right?

Yep, the old is not much but as you say, better than a pick and shovel! Paid for too!
That must be what you do to the corn crop when fuel prices bottom out!

Nice looking old D4D. Its a bit newer than any of my toys. I thought of using my 9U D6, 1956 model but the fellow wants to keep the trail width down.
