I came across our old H317 M&B Preload that was sold to Hayes Forest and then they sold it to Surespan Bridge and then I guess they surplused her and she was sold again So she is once again back in the forest industry

So is this the HD you were talking about a month or so ago Steve? If it is, it turns out that it doesn't look to bad! I'm glad you saved it dieselfreak!

RCP57,you have been very quiet since you threw out your teaser,Reg. Could we please have an update?

Sadly Ian, I have nothing new to report on the Hayes HD models. I have been busy working on some Dozer conversions and also some dump truck/dump trailer parts though. I'm always building something it seems, just not always stuff I can post here. I see a trip to Port Alberni in my future over the holidays. I need to annoy HDX some as it's been a while since our last visit. When there I hope to visit the "field of dreams" so that I can grab some more detailed photos of the rear suspension. Once I have that I will get back on with the build.

I like it....Nice old school heater in the truck similar to my Diamond T heater. Also looks like a vintage pull out ash tray on the bottom of the dash.Just missing the clip on flash light holder for the steering column...Looks like fun.......Cory

2nd picture on post 1780 show's clearly just where the exhaust pipe (4 inch straight pipe) came through the hood. Yes Reg that is the truck. We went back up just on the off chance she was still there and sure enough she was . Was not going to let her get cut up and had a check in the old pocket just in case. But alas she had already been adopted by dieselfreak They will fix her up very nicely . Will go up at Christmas shutdown and visit them. Hope he got her running today!

HDX I didn't think I was that hard on your truck. I suppose it was my fault for the broken spring mount since I was sitting on that side, and bouncing on the seat after a few bumps in the road. Hope you are back in her and give her a pat for me, too.

NO NO its not that Its just that we have had so much rain and wind events that we just are not working very much, so im sitting in the F350 seat more now! We managed to stuff old 17 inside the Sarita Shop where it is nice and cold and DRY.LOL Besides with all the time off it gives me more time to run around and take pictures to share with you guys on here. Found some interesting stuff that might become available VERY SOON so im thinking that the "Field of dreams" just might get bigger. Finally hooked up with a guy in Courtenay that I have been talking to on and off for some time now and ended up with some really nice HAYES NOS parts. Some for HD some for HDX so they will all go to good use. It was a good day because we ended up talking about the Nanaimo Hayes Crew and the Alberni dealership as well lots of names from the past.

HDX, glad to hear the #17 is being inside the shed, with no problems. I bet you did enjoy your picture taking and chats with the old Hayes crew. Good to remember the old boys from the past keep the memories, going for the future. Probably even had a cup of coffee or two. Only one unhappy probably is Bird!

Got back to the cabin this afternoon in time to watch three Eagles, fishing on the river. Sights like that make my day!

HDX, just a quick update, haven't got H88 running yet. Pulled the starter out in the hurricane the other night after work, soaked to the gills, waiting to see how it checks out. I am heading to the interior over the holidays to visit my in-laws so there is a good chance I'll miss you. I have a gift for you, something I don't think you have seen in a while. I've been storing it in one of my vans and came across it the other day. I have 2 so I saved one for you. Let me know what your schedule is. I can always leave it with my crew if I'm not around.

dieselfreak, Am going to bring RCP57 and Kim up over the holidays for a peek around and check out a few things. Have to drop in on BTC and see what is new there and drop some stuff off. Should I leave your "care package" with the shop crew???
