I have a 2003 model of wa480 an it's driving me crazy.

It switches to emergencymode everytime it gets warm and geting started on the heavy loads.
I get a malfunctioncode "AD10L3 eng motor", and i just cant figure it out what it means.
Its supposed to be related the highpressure fuelsystem.
I have searched and found sensor 7,8,9,11 and 12 where is sensor10??
Even my mechanic cant get grip of the problem and it seems that no one can.
The problem dissapears after the machine rests over night and doesent occur until it gets really warm again.

Please help, Im going bananas
And forgive the poor language, Im not used to the machine terms and feel free to ask additional questions if you need. I will try to answer or pass them on to my colleagues

How do I "get control" of the fuelpump.
Whats the cause of lack of control.
Is the complet fuelsystem fubar and needs to be replaced. Or maybe just the fuelpump
Could it be the sensor thats malfuctioning?

Need more info to procced

its sounds like you may have an obstruction in the fuel line, they had a common problem with the fuel level float inside the tank coming apart and the pieces get stuck in the lines and fittings. look any place there is an elbow or there is a banjo bolt, there is also a banjo bolt with a screen in it going in to the supply pump. and have you changed the fuel filter and cleaned the float bowl strainer? the code itself means the common rail pressure is dropping 10bar for more than 8 seconds, generally this something to do with the low pressure transfer pump. again what series machine is it because I have manual for the 5 and 5L.

Is it an inline Zexel Fuel Pump?

Plumb the pump to a 20 Drum of Diesel. I have seen one Suck Air inside the Fuel Tank Pick Up.

I don't know if it is exactly like our 2002 wa500-3, but we where having a similar problem. We also got a different code with the different machine. Ours would run most of the morning and sometime even into the afternoon, before it would go into limp mode. As the temperature rises the fuel gets thinner, which in turn reduces the pressure in the common rail lines. On the common rail pump there are little lift pumps, they can be the problem or it maybe the common rail pump its self. Our dealer said the lift pumps are like $300 or so and you can replace them and still may not fix the problem. For $2500 we got whole common rail pump with the lift pumps. Not saying that's your problem buts that I would check. We used our actual komatsu dealer, the mechanic said that the common rail pumps usually fail @ 15000 hours, at least in the 15 liter motors. We had around 14k on ours that's why we spent the extra money.

Good Luck!
