A66 loader

We ran two A64's for a few years and as a loader to operate, I quite liked them. We did everything with them, from feeding the crusher, clearing trees and cleaning out dams. We had to be careful in dams and on slopes, because they were a little bit tippy, or they gave that impression, but I do think some of that was because the operator was sitting up fairly high. Both these machines were up around the 11 - 12,000 hour mark and the only real problems we had were with the axles. They had inboard brakes incorporated with the diff, which ran in the common oil and they caused a lot of problems for us. The axles ran frightfully hot, but we were running them hard, to keep up to the crusher. The engines gave no trouble, but we did rebuild one transmission.
I do have the specs on the Ford A62, A64 and A66 loaders if anyone is interested.

Here is one in action.

Hey Rocks, your doing a fine job with specs, can you send specs for A-62, 64, AND 66? to racemaster56@gmail.com Is there anyone you know of that has posted technical engine information for these loaders? (torque specs, clearances, etc) Keep up the good work!

The specs have been sent racer, my apologies for the delay, I saw your request here and then forgot about it.

I can’t help you with the engine torque and clearance specs, but someone here on HEF may be able too.

I will if I can find them, I shifted some files around on my computer and they are not where they are supposed to be, when I went to find them.

As for purchasing a Ford loader, they were a good loader in their day, but it really depends on the condition of the machine, they are quite old now, parts could be a problem, axles etc, perhaps not so much the engine.

Hi, a friend of mine owns a Ford A-64, He wants to repaint and redo all the stickers (caution sticker etc) but some of the stickers are torn apart etc. Is it possible that some can lead me to where i can find what was written on the stickers or maybe send me photos of the stickers please?

Can anyone tell me if the Ford 401 is a SAE #2 or SAE #3 flywheel housing.

Repowered a Trojan 1500Z with a 4cyl Cummins 4BT 130 HP ...... Lots of power
