Cd, who has the best pricing between Deere & Kawasaki? I have learned my lesson on buying equipment without plentiful dealers and support, it has to be Komatsu, Cat, Deere, Bobcat for me. We even lost the Link Belt dealer in KC, Mo now and this is really turning out to be a major problem

I don't know, the Kawasaki in from my LB dealer. The other one is from the Deere dealer. Neither of the two was powerful and had no sack.

Here is some action from Saturday. Everyone is still beat from the last few months. We'll probably knock off around noon Thursday. Doesn't mean there is no work around the compound though.

Great pictures CD, and congratulations on the new iron. It's good to see a little optimism out there again.

E Series Bobcat

How do you like the Bobcat 'E' series machines like the E55? Are they holding up better than the older generation machines? Some nice pictures with the mountains in the background.

I can't really say. The new one's are amazing but so were the old one's. I love my s300's and 435's but am also excited to put some new blood into the herd,

Congrats on the new iron CD!

Good to see work in your area is getting better. Starting to see work ramping up in my area too. Friday I got a call from a GC on a job I bid over a month ago. This project had a nice demo and a decent amount of site work. PM told me the owner decided to take the demo and his "low guy" didn't want the job without the demo and asked me what my price would be without demo but erosion control was still in their scope. The erosion control on this job was a bitch.

My phone has been ringing off the hook as well as email. Currently booked out for 6 months. It was a good feeling to turn down the job, knowing I had more profitable projects lined up.;)

CD, how do you like the Case dozer. I've never had a chance to run(Case is not real strong in our area). Always wondered how they are.

Well your guys will respect that as much as anything. Had a boss one time that ran the old 955 and let us run the B models. I'll never forget that.

Good shots. Looks like a great day in the dirt and especially because I don't see the usual rocks that I see in your pics.

Congrats on the new iron CD! will you put a thumb on the new 160? Did you decide on a loader yet? I have been running a cat 930K a little bit, its a nice machine but it doesn't seem to have great traction. just wondering what the others are like.

I am planning on putting a coupler on the 160 then getting the bucket with the clamp attached. That way we don't have to have the thumb all the time. Only thing they really work for is demo, clearing and grubbing and rock walls.

i looked at those but i think when you curl the bucket it will hit the stick. take a look at tag manufacturing mantis bucket it doesn't have the cross bar to hit the stick

CD, what engine and running gear does your Volvo have in it? The Volvo trucks here have all Volvo engines, gearboxes and diffs.

I wish they supplied a conventional cab truck here, but they phased the last of them out quite a few years ago and only have cab over trucks. There is nothing wrong with them, but a conventional cab truck is easier to get in and out of if you are doing a lot of short haul tipper work.
