Hey guys my crew are having problems with our L90 loader.
the issue is that the engine will randomly cut out, to get her going again you must select neutral and turn the ignition off.
she will then either fire up immediately or take about 2 cranks at around 3 seconds each.

i have checked fuel filters and fuel at the common inlet, disconnected cleaned and reconnected many many plugs and fuses.
it happens when sitting still and selecting gears or when travelling across ground.
she has a belt driven fuel lift and low pressure pump.

there was a thread on here with the same loader same problem but the bloke that started it never got back with his findings :(

any help would be awesome

The immediate things i would suggest is first to check the stop solenoid.
On the old ones they tend to just fail and stop randomly.
Turning on the ingnition it holds as normal, but vibration makes it not hold anymore.
If i remember right, there is a kit that moves it away from the heat and then it lasts longer.
The rebuild kit konsist of a wire and bracket extending the distanse from the engine.
The next is to check charging, how is the brushes on the generator?
When the voltage drops down under a ceartan level it stops.

Thanks for the reply , do you mean the DC solenoid on mounted to one of the firewalls in the engine bay?
this loader doesnt appear to have a diesel solenoid as the pump is a belt driven unit and the injectors are also the injection pump/solenoid assembly in one, they are big fat Bosch units.

thanks again

Hi, firstly is it an E or F model, ie tier 2 or 3, are there any error codes displayed, are there any visible leaks from low press belt driven pump and is there any way you can check fuel pressure?

try to unplug the succion line that goes to the fuel tank and put it into another fuel tank (5 gallons will work fine). Run the loader, if the trouble still present look at the fuel primary pump if the shaft is loose, or if you can see little leakeage behind the pulley. Other than that, if no error codes is present its probably your FCV that is the problem. Did you already saw a code PSID 096-1 in the dash, if so, its fuel pressure related.
