I would like to hear about the work folks are doing, or have done in the past as a result of abnormal weather in your area, and how you end up with the jobs (existing customers, cold calling, drive bys ect). I am in Tennessee, and we don't always get snow in the winter, so when we do, some interesting plowing opportunities arise. We have also done tornado cleanup for insurance companies and property managers although we usually don't have tornados. I know of a company in the north east that kept busy for nearly a whole year building box culverts after a bad spell of flooding, you get my drift.

The frost is going deep this year, which leads to water main breaks for the cities and towns to deal with. Service laterals freeze up, and the plumber hooks up a welder to thaw the pipe out. Mobile homes freeze up water lines, but that happens every year.
