Dozer blade ?

Hey all,

Just got a Bradco Dozer blade. My partner bought it used at a auction bout 2 years ago. He used it 2 times then bought a D3g. He hooked it up to his Terex PT100 and he said it worked great.

He dropped it off with me last week and i can't get the darn sweep to work. Obviously it goes up and down with the lift arms, the angle side to side uses the low flow and that works fine but the sweep is controlled by the aux electrical connector. I plugged it in and i get nothing. He plugged it into the terex and said it worked when he loaded it.

I have it hooked to a 05 asv rc100. I have never used the electrical connection port for anything more less ever used one period. So I'm lost...... I was trying to check the ports with my meter to see if they are even putting out power but my arms need to be 3' longer or i need 2 more arms.

Any ideas or suggestions would be a great help. I have the wiring diagrams for my asv and the blade i could post up if you need it.

Jumper wires for your meter so you know what's going on, or wait for someone who's had this setup do the same thing (sorry not me)

Not sure on the ASV machines but on the Cat the aux electrics there is a cab mounted toggle switch to activate the circuit, check the fuse box and relay for that circuit. Usually aux elec is an add on option with harness, connectors and hand control unit etc, get a wiring diagram and check if it has an in line fuse other than the main fuse box and all the earth points. Check your manual for the correct sequence for activating the hydraulic flow from you hand control switches. Hope you find a easy fix for it. Good luck.

Have a 6-way dozer blade on a Deere 332 and it has hand controls with push buttons for different things.Like you said up and down you use the arm and the tilt back of the coupler. To angle the blade we use the axil hydraulic foot pedal.

To get the blade to tilt have to push and hold the axil push button switch on the hand control, then move the axil foot pedal back and fore to get the blade to tilt left or right.

Pushing the button on the hand contol opens the valve for the tilt and diverts the axil hydraulic through the valve that makes the blade tilt.Just let off the button and your back to angle if your still hold your foot on the axil pedal.

You might have to wire a switch into the system or use a switch already on your joystick.Good luck

Ok so i messed around with it today a bit. Still haven't got it to work but i tested all the connections.

On my Aux electric connector on the asv are 8 pins. My left stick has a index finger button thumb button and a thumb toggle. Its the same lever cat used on there d3g dozers. Each pin has over 12v when i press a button.
Plugged up the blade and which is the correct connection but only 4 of the 8 pins are useable. When plugged up i tested the wires coming out of the plug to rule out a bad connection at the plug. ALL had over 12v then the corresponding button was pressed. Still nothing

While my wife " she's a pro dozer, excavator, and skiddloader operator " was hitting the buttons and i was testing with the multi meter i could hear a faint click from the solenoid.

Funny thing is i called my partner and told him what i had done and he said..... I loaded it on the trailer and made sure everything worked before i loaded it and it did. It has sat outside in the shade no rain for about 3 or 4 days.

Guess I'm pulling the solenoid off tomorrow.
