i saw that today, went to cabela's (awesome store).there is also a komatsu 1250 sitting there. i went over to check them out, they are some big machines. i climbed in the cab of both of them and they both had the keys sitting in the ignition, no one around either. i don't think i would leave machines sitting like that, your just asking for trouble. i could have fired that thing up and done whatever i wanted. sitting in the cab of the cat was pretty cool, you can't be afraid of heights to run that thing its up there. the tracks on it almost seem like they are too small for that size of a machine.

Hey DIGDUG

I am originally from your neck of the woods (Slippery Rock), and I'm quite familiar with the Cabelas in Wheeling. I visited that store shortly after it opened and recall seeing a big spread of Cat pans and dozers parked across from the parking lot. Maybe we could get together and swap lies the next time I'm in "The Burgh".

Hey guys,

Could this be the Interstate 35 project in Charleston West Virginia? I read something about this on DHS yesterday. Although I didn't see anything about a 500 Cat being mentioned. I heard 2 PC 2000's, 1 PC 1250, 6 777's, 5 773's, 4 631's, 4 637's. Maybe I'm on a different project?

EDIT

Sorry, I missed the 'Wheeling' part.

Yes , its a Case 445 . Great workhorse , plenty of grunt. Reminds me of my old Case 350 dozer.

Jordan,

Thanks for the info, been talking to my parents a lot lately about it and Yes! We do plan on going down there sometime, and then heading over to North Carolina to check out the airport project.

What is going on at this other project you speak of? Any other details on it?

It was a dually from factory, then when he re did the motor, he decided to go for the srw and took off the fenders, then last year he decided to go back to a dullay with smaller tires all the way around, now i beleive hes going all out more motor work, bigger drivetrain and what not, not sure if hes gunna go back to srw or not. but ya he does have pretty good luck down at the buck.
