Born2clearcut; Great pictures as usual. I realy enjoy those old pictures filled with atmosphere/action. I'll have to build a model of that Hayes HDX model with Hayes Clipper doors.

I have a few pictures of Mercury trucks, but they were not used in the forest industry, so I will not post them at this site. Send me a PM.

Great picture, I remember having to walk over that bridge to get to our house in Bear Creek camp as the road from Shawnigan ended on the east side.

Picutre #1 was taken in the 50's picture was sent from a family friend . The rest of the picutres are of the Hall being burnt down on purpose to destroy it , guess it wasn't worth trying to move .
As a kid I remember spending a lot of time in that old community hall, great pictures your posting sure brings back memories, keep up the great postings.

The HDX fire tanker pictured above (PT1) was cut up in Campbell River a couple years ago. I bought the cab off her. The rear ends were installed in a gravel truck

Truck # 203
Picture 1 - Harris Creek 1960 truck #203 with short stakes . Are these what they call Seattle stakes ?
Picture 2 - and 3 are of truck #203 in 1961 with a 5 gallon rebuild and converted over to a Pre-load truck
In picture 2 with the headlights under the rad and the trailer hitch and steel plate on bumper almost looks like #203 is happy to be getting another load :D

Weren't all the Northwests orange from the factory?

Paint looks like an early Lima.

I have never seen a yellow Northwest, although I'm sure you're right. Now that I think about it, I believe the few Limas I have been around did have the cab on the other side.
