Yair . . . C'mon fellers, educate us Colonials, what's the go with the sticker?

Cheers.

College football teams and rivalries?

That's an LSU (Louisiana State University) sticker and their working in Volunteer country (University of Tennessee). We take our college football very seriously in the South.:D

Actually there have been quite a few people who were really exciting about seeing the LSU sticker. They'd walk up and talk to me about how they used to be from Louisiana. I admit though it is not my truck, I wish it was though! I was borrowing it for the day to run some errands.

Radnor Lake Clean Up

What an exciting past few days we have had. We had a small frack out inside the Radnor Lake area, Otter Creek specifically. It was a huge deal. I will post a couple articles that pretty much explain the jist of what went down.

http://www.wsmv.com/story/22255268/300-gallons-of-clay-spill-at-radnor-lake
This article says we placed sand bags but they were actually silt socks with wood chips inside them. It also says there were 50 people when actually there was about 40.

http://www.newschannel5.com/story/2...-clay-water-spilled-in-radnor-lake-state-park
Again this one states 50 people which there was more like 40.

The one thing they don't mention is that they don't allow anyone off the ROW to check for frack outs. The guy who found it was testing the water and just happened upon it. If they had allowed us to get someone to walk the area daily to look for these things it probably wouldn't have been this bad and could have been contained BEFORE reaching Otter Creek.

Anyways it's all cleaned up now. Just waiting on the assessment to say whether or not we have to go back in and clean it up again. It looked pretty good when we left. We hauled over 800 buckets out of that place by hand. What a crazy past few days it has been!

Oh no, Bentonite!

LoL, how true Turbo, "Oh no, Bentonite!", as if the alarmists want us to think it's some kind of "it's going to kill us!" material. When in fact it's a natural clay material, totally harmless. For those who don't know the product, commonly used in drilling. Let's say you drill a drinking water well. You hit water at 150 ft down. You install a steel pipe (casing) in the hole to just above the water you hit to make a clear path to the water. The casing is what you'll install your well pump down to the water. Once casing is installed, you'll place bentonite for several feet around the end of the casing to make a seal to prevent surface contaminants going around outside of casing and contaminating drinking water. That's right, it's so dangerous that we use it to seal a drinking water well. :D

Out of nothing more than pure curiosity Shenandoah...just where does dihydrogen monoxide enter into this subject? :beatsme

Ok, just was curious how it related. :)

It's funny how calling something by a name people don't immediately recognize makes their antennas stand up. Like with clay. Call it Bentonite and the news cameras start rolling. Mine was just another example.

Thanks for playing along. :)

We hauled another 74 buckets of just pure creek mud out today. They wanted us to clean up the mud that we had made by digging in the creek to get the bentonite. Then we had to take down trail we had made with caution tape and cut down limbs and trees and lay them in the path to make it seem like we were never there. They want us to spray the limbs and bushes we cut with a herbicide to kill them from what I understand. I guess I'm still not quite sure why. Just seems to be damaging the park area more but that's just what I think. There must be a reason behind it.

Willie, they are worried about it damaging the bugs and craw fish that are in that area I guess is what the big deal is.

Here is another article
