Anyone tried out this Dakota Shine stuff for bringing back the luster on oxidized paint on your equipment? I see some video's on the stuff and made me curious as to how long it will hold up.
We have used the products a couple of times now. The stuff does do what it says it will do, it looks great when your done. The problem i have is that it doesnt last like they say it does. I am going to guess we got 2 years out of the dakota shine finish before it didnt look like it was ever applied.
This is just a humble opinion but if you have the means to repaint something with your own forces just bite the bullet and do that. The stuff is way too expensive im my opinion and fairly labor intensive to apply correctly. For example we did a 60' man lift with the stuff and it cost about $600 with the material, labor, etc. We have repainted about 20 60' lifts now and i can do one complete with aftermarket decals, body work, sanding it down, spot prime, and a sherwin williams finish that will last about 6-8 years for $1100. So, if you do the math its an easy choice.
However, if you are going to clean this item up to resell........ i would dakota shine the thing and walk away.
