Kerry you've cracked it!! The general sent all the best bits to wabco and painted the rest green.

Stan ,weve got a 222g that has been converted from the original point switching system to solid state. If you need info I will climb up on the hitch and get the specs and nos off the components. A word of warning, if anything goes a stray in the generator or transformer this set up is toast and costs around 6 k to replace. I dont think we will convert any of our others for this reason. We have acessess to new points if you need them.

Last month of the year every one wants to get 6months of work done before 24.12.

Been busy for a while and I haven't had a chance to thank you for the description of the tire armor. Thanks for the details. It looks like a good idea. I may try to push it for so me applications around here. Tires are everywhere.

Im after some electrical info that someone out there might be able to help with. It is info for a 333FT,222G and 111A models.

Firstly on the generator side....
1- generator AMPS
2- Generator Voltage
3- Frequency in Hz
4- Full current load

Secondly on the elevator motors

1- Motor AMPS
2- Motor Horsepower
3- Full load current
4- Rated voltage

All our books avoid getting into this detail however it must be in someones records.
We would really appreciate it as the modern day electrician can't believe how they work in dust, water and crap!!! and don't understand the system.

We are looking at putting new contacts and wireing on but they want this info first.

Cheers:confused:

Hi Stan. I don't know any of this electrical stuff and I can't recall seeing it in print among all the literature etc etc that has passed through my hands however, my friend Gerry Wells was a Service Engineer for Wabco in Australia. (He is on page 281-281 of the Wabco Australia book.) Gerry will probably know this stuff since he was a specialist in Product Support and Training for scrapers and Haulpaks in Australia. It's been a while since I've seen Gerry but I'll try and get in touch and see if he can shed some light. This is the sort of technical information he was involved in. Gerry could go over a scraper or Haulpak frame for numbers stamped on the frames and could decifer them all. So anyway, I'll let you know if I manage to contact him or, put you in touch direct with him.
Cheers

Phil

Stan, What we used on our C-Pull with the Hancock scraper and the D-Pull was contacts from Westinghouse 1605202 Size 2 Motor Starter Contact Kit. The contactor was a type N.
The other info about the machines that we had was the three phase generator was 120 cycles instead of the normal 60 cycles. Taht was to be able to get twice the power out of a electric motor without increasing the size. Also make sure that when you hook up the batteries and turn on the master switch you get a good 15 amp draw, if not check for corrossion on the brush holder in the gererator (everyone calls it a generator but it is really an alternator) I have never found where it stated how many amps the generator puts out but I did check amp draw to one of the conveyer motors a it was about 50 Amps. Normal rule of thumb with 480 AC volts is 1 amp per horsepower. The C-Pull elevator gear boxes had a 99:1 gear ratio and with two motors I believe that would be about 1,000 hp on the paddels. We used to shoot for a voltage of 380-420V, and things worked real good.
Good Luke hope this helps some Maurice
P.S. I posted some pictures a while back of two of the remaining scrapers that we ran.
