Dustinlb, here’s proof that it isn’t a huge deal to get thru it. I have been taking it every renewal cycle that was required of me since it has been in existence and scored pretty much the exact same thing each time since the mid 90s. It’s all about how well you use your time, and knowing that the best answer [in the opinion of the test committee] is not always the right answer, but it’s still the one they are looking for. http://s1029.photobucket.com/albums...ion=view&current=My2012NCCCOrenewalscores.jpg

Good luck. I will say tho I refuse to take the small hydro cert' since it is so unlikely that we will ever buy anything that small and I won’t be on it if we did. I just figured I would save myself time and aggravation that way.

so true!!! i can't believe how much emphasis they place on the allotted time for the 3 timed tasks, i had no trouble but watched several operators that were very smooth and had obviously operated for some time that did. talked to one guy that was perfect on all 4 tasks but went 82 seconds over and got a fail 3 weeks later. which brings up another point there is no excuse for exam scoring and subsequent reporting to take 2 to 3 weeks! all that being said i am an strong advocate of certification for operators, it just seems that legal and political views and opinions are outweighing common sense aspect of it.

Yeah the practicals are super easy if you have any decent operating skills. The scores I posted are all just my written exams. They gave me my test results within 30 minutes, but it took 3 weeks to get them in printed form by the mail.

I am renewed. Core and 4 endorsements for the next 5 years...

Have to say, there were a few questions that had me completely dumbfounded. Guess its just luck of the draw...

Made a 95 on the core... Made a dead 70 on large hydraulic and lattice crawler, 85 on small hydraulic and an 80 on lattice truck.

Here's the kicker: I made a perfect 100 on ALL my load chart questions (3 per endorsement). I would recommend anyone who is renewing soon to review specific knowledge and new OSHA rules. Take it easy on the load chart questions. Like I said before, there were a few questions that had me completely dumbfounded...
