the scraper operator running a 641 b pulled past my dads truck then relized he was in the wrong area of the main line then he put it in reverse to turn around.(building a 4 lane hgy pull up circle around too easy) put a trailer tire in the bed of the old mans truck. only bent the frame a little bit new box and straightend frame and he' going :Banghead

That'll buff right out! Scrapers do seem to be attracted to pickup's, that or a truck always seems to be parked in the worst of places. I have seen a couple trucks get crunched, one by a ts18 I think, and the other by a 621. Both are still going!

Isn't it strange how its never the operators vehicle that gets backed over, or driven over but always someone else's instead and is usually the nicest and newest pickup on the site at the time, never the oldest POS there that needed to be gotten rid of anyhow. Hopefully nobody got hurt and either someone had a chat with the operator or canned him, either way, mistakes do happen, as long as everyone goes home safely to their family at night is whats important at the end of the day, despite what goes wrong.

too bad about the pickup, like the old saying goes , you'll never back into something if you never back up.

Back in the 60's the company was removing overburden at a open copper mine and were using 666 scrapers one night on midnight shift got call on the radio from the dirt forman asking for a mechanic to come to his location because his headlights were out We got there and found that 666 had ran over the pick-up from the wind shield forward. No one was hurt That is except us from laughing

years ago i worked for a small construction company hauling screened gravel---you had to load your own truck--so a game of who could drive the loader up the pile under the screen plant the highest was started between the drivers--i think the machine was a massey 60--maybe 90--5 yd bucket---well one day the foreman caught on to what was going on,and he kicked one of the drivers out of the machine that was about 1/2 the way up the pile side.. as he was yelling and screaming at us we watched him back down the pile, and the right rear tire ended up dead center on his big bonnaville car trunk--flattened it good all the way to the back window--i think he drove around all summer with plastic sheet for window--thank goodness for duct tape--

well... the dodge was the pipe foreman's. They always had hand tools and such in the bed and kept their trucks close to the action. There was a 953 working backfill on same crew. 953 operator told a laborer / dis-placed operator to move the pickup to a new spot, guy truck was moved to new spot, 20 minutes later the 953 operator backed up and sat his motor on top of the dodges...

In the aftermath the 953 operator hit the road, the foreman went to lead pipelayer, and the guy that parked the truck got laid off a couple months later at the end of season.
