I bet Tom has it figured out. I believe I am going to try and rig up a truck like yours Tom, however I believe I will start with a 90's model kw. Pockets are still pretty shallow yet. I am having trouble locating an enormous service body like that. I currently run a Int 4900 with a dt530. Good truck but gonna need another one soon as I am growing at a decent rate. Figured iwould start early instead of having to have it right away. Do you know a manufacturers who built those beds so I can maybe find a used one somewheres?

Teamco/Feterl 1-605-498-0610, ask for Jack. Good luck

Your thread is always interesting. I sure do enjoy that you take the time to show your skills and teach us a thing or two from each job.

You are right Lee, the customer knows what needs to be done but the lack of work and the poor economy has put a budget on this repair. I'll post some pictures when I get back to it.

If you would rather not it is fine, but since you brought up economy, it begs the question as to what you think should happen to help fix this. Iw oils not ask without voicing my own. Less government, more small business, more free enterprise, less regulation, less Obama. I think that if the government would just stay out of it so to speak our economy would fix itself out of self sustainment. I want to eat, therefore I work, therefore I make money, therefore I spend it, therefore I eat, therefore economy sustains itself. What is your view? I know this is not a political forum and If you don't want get it started just delete it.

Tom - great work! Your attention to detail and clean work ethic is amazing. A few questions; I'm looking to invest in a OTC hollow ram. What would you recommend 10,20 or 30 tonn? The biggest piece of iron I see would be no bigger than 60 ton. For your press plates what did you do buy them? Or just get plate and cut out pieces in .25" increments with a 1.250" hole for threaded rod? Thanks, Derek.

The minimum size ram I would start out with would be a 30ton. My most used are 30ton and 60ton, the step plates I have made when ever I am at the machine shop, 30ton 1 1/4" hole, 60ton 1 5/8" hole. Good luck.
