Were the holes smoked on the bucket or were the hears bent? I did a similar repair on a 345 bucket. The stick pin was bent from being on a quick coupler. The bore welder you run is similar to our old Bug-O bore welder. Your welder has better controls. Are the bearings on the York bar spherical?

The bores were pounded out, the mounting bearings are straight ball bearings, two for each mount.

Kiall, I put the seal in hot water for a few minutes then fold it, grab it folded with needle nose pliers and put it in the gland.

Love the second vise! Mind if I use that? Nice workbench area too. In another section of the forum a question is posed regarding welding something on the service bed and whether or not there should be concern regarding truck electronics. What are your feelings regarding this? I know I have done it but usually throw the master on the truck first. Anyway great photos as always.

Tom, what do you do when the bore is scored or the gland is bad once you have them apart, do you remachine them or have the customer hunt for new or used parts and wait till the parts are in to continue that project? I just took a cylinder off my dozer blade lift and the ram was bent slightly and the glad was scored, I had to wait two weeks to get it back from a shop that specializes in rebuilding cylinders, they made me a gland and put in a new ram because they couldn't get the old one straight enough to work. I was just curious how you handled those types of situations?

I really don't weld on the back of my truck, if there is welding or fabrication to do in the field I would bring my horses and set a plate on top, instant table.

Randy, I do what ever the customer wants to do, sometimes new parts are cheaper than being down for a week.
