Not sure of the correct name for the electronic gauge panel in a 320 CL, but mine quit lighting up. The machine starts and functions fine, but no gauges. Hopefully its just a fuse, any help is appreciated, Thanks

hello hawkeye, you might check and see if it has been put in Manual mode inside the cab, We have 3 - B series esc. and they have toggle switches that allow you to change to MAN mode or AUT mode. when in manual mode you will have no power to the monitor but all still works fine. i am not sure the c series has that but if you have a operators manual it will show it. good luck

Thanks for the reply. I've seen the toggle switch your talking about on other machines but not sure I have one on this 320. Where are the possible locations? Thanks

On the b-series they are on the right hand side of the operators console. on the cat parts store it does have a picture of two toggle switches on the c-series machines. 283-3074 1 SWITCH AS-TOGGLE (AEC AUTO/MANUAL) and
163-6711 1 SWITCH AS-TOGGLE (BACK-UP THROTTLE so your machine should have them.

normally under the right hand arm rest lift it from the front window side and you will find a switch for maual mode and another for increasing the revs in manual mode

Thanks for the help, found this yesterday, knew I had seen it somewhere. This doesn't help my problem at all, but when would you need this manual throttle? My gauge and control panel is still a dark screen, seems there should be a fuse somewhere?

The manual throttle switch is for if the computer goes out that controls the throttle control then you can use the toggle switch to actually throttle up and down the engine, it is only intended for temporary use. yes i believe it should have a fuse as well. do you have a operators manual, it will show you where it is located, it should be marked as monitor fuse. the manual will also show you the location of the fuse panel.

Fixed it, broken power wire under the lower plastic cover. Easy to fix, pita to find. Called Cat, first thing he said is to check the auto/manual switch under the arm rest. Thanks for the help. There is a dedicated fuse, marked monitor control. Thanks again

Just joined this forum, and this thing saved the day! Thank you guys so much for this post because I had the exact same problem with my 320 CL and this was the exact solution. I pulled apart the console and there it was right below the wiper motor in the lower right hand corner of the cab. I found the connector and that one wire was corroded into on both sides of the connector. Just simply made a big tail around it with another separate connector and boom! Everything worked perfectly. I will say that cat yet again did not disappoint in making it virtually humanly impossible to remove that console piece and to ever get it back without taking the seat out. Typical. Whichever cat engineer design of that is either got his ears burning or is rolling over in his grave after me talking about him today. But you guys saved the day thank you!
