You must have some tall bridges out there, we have to put them on a beam and take the tires off to get'em low enoughto slide under our overpasses.
16'4'' not that tall:D A lot of the time we haul them on beams but this was a short 35 mile haul and I had two 657's to move afterwards so we just put it on the deck.

Here is a picture of how we move the 992's around here. Most of the time they go down into Detriot somewhere, and it's best to be as close to 14' a possible. I put in a couple more pic's of some other moves downtown, the green bridge is to Zug Island, thats a 365 in the picture, I also have to use this bridge for the 992's. The other shot is a 345 MH that only gets moved about a half mile.

I pin them up, I wasn't finished loading yet, there's still blocking under the tracks in this picture. It's so much work for a 5 minute ride!

A fun road to lowbed on

Here was a fun road. This corner and a few others like it made me real glad it is a 16 tire lowbed, not an 8 tire.

It was a long ways down, and 4 or maybe 6 tires were hanging in the air at one point.

When I went the other way loaded, I had a slightly better angle of approach, so I had a couple less tires dangling, and I was nervous enough to not stop for a picture.

But what are you going to do when you have to pick the machine back up?! That is a nice advantage having those extra tires in there:thumbsup

P.S. time for some new deck boards;)

Past time. I had to buy tires before boards though. Maybe next month.
Plywood fills the holes for now:(

Looks good with the crusher on. I would sure hate to see a speed bump or railroad crossing ahead. Looks like you couldn't fit a legal pad under the frame.

Looks like you couldn't fit a legal pad under the frame.
The problem was, I couldn't get my weight right, to much on the tractor, the frame on the crusher extends well beyond it's tracks, so it would run into the metal fenders on my trailer, we put down some oak ramps to get it above them but, the tip of the conveyer was 15' high, well above height pole escort even with the trailer squatted down, I ended up removing the fenders off the 1st axle, so the crusher frame could just sit next to the trailer frame with the tracks flat on the deck and the at trailer at normal height.
But I actually move our 400 Komatsu like that, with the trailer in it's lowest setting, I can stay JUST under height pole escort when it has it's short stick, without having to pull the pin.

Ain't that the truth.
It never fails especially when you are running late and try to cram 30 hrs into a 24 hr day.
