Picked up a (roughly) 1979 JCB 3D111 and it runs pretty well, but there is no first gear. The gears aren't even in the transmission according to the previous owner. Someone before him must have trashed 1st gear and then just put a blocking plate somewhere.https://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/images/smilies/eek.gif

I'd like to find the gears to get 1st going again. Might have to locate another tranny and cannibalize it. This rig has a torque converter and a 4 speed tranny. Who has transmission parts for these old rigs?https://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

Learned that the first gears broke and someone literally removed the gears, decades ago. Also learned that these are probably generic 4 speed Spicer transmissions. Anyone know? Dirtmaster

If you can get me a serial number, I may be able to point you in the right direction. PM me if you have it and I'll check it out.
