Sorry I don't have any suggestions, but I am interested in this as my radio does the same thing. Hope someone has an idea.

Not sure if Cat is the same but our Case has a mute button on the front of the left joystick.

it got wet somewhere along the line then so easiest fix is pull it out and replace it, itll cost alot less than messing with it and it still wont be right

Not knowing what cat radio you have did you get into the radio settings by pressing the volume knob there is a setting called fader try adjusting it if you havent aready Cat radios can run 4 speaker systems your machine only has two. it could be adjusted so its trying to play on the two speakers you dont have

Just for sh*ts and giggles ...... try and plugging in a new antenna ...... oh and is it just a radio or a tape or CD player too ?? ...... if it is that could be hooped as well ..

My antenna went for a pooper years ago ..... then went to the Sirius Satelite w/head set

NO ! ..the power up where the radio goes is already 12v ...... it goes thru a converter before it feeds to the radio ...check it out you'll see ....... have fun enjoy !

I'm new to the board but not new to cat. I have an 02 315cl that was having the same problems. Replaced the speakers and got static. Plugged in a new antenna and had music.

It does come from the back and is one piece ... the only issue you'll find is matching up the mounting brackets ......
