Hi Mike No you dont need 1/2 in spacers you can use 3/8 all they do is space the 1400-24 wheels apart they dont pack any of the load the hub and rim do all the work like i said we used to go to wider spacers when the hub got worn over all the years. You could tell when the hubs got worn and your nuts on your clamps started bottoming out before they were tight it was time to get a wider spacer i used to weld a bead on the spacer and grind it off the best i could to tighten everything up but that was what u called a gypo up here and we made it work till payday hope this helps let me know Larry

Why do you refer to them as "FAT TRUCKS"? It is very degrading!!! Why would they be a FAT TRUCK? Sounds like something that needs to go to jenny craig or is somehow by choice become deformed

Jenny craig thats a good one lol. Fat truck is not meant to be degrading i said that because they are huge compared to the hwy trucks. I am still trying to figure out how to add pics of her

Thanks this is a great site. She has 12' bunks,14:00 x 24 tires,400 bc2 cummins with a 15 speed main and 4 speed brownie and yes a 50 ton trailer. I havnt hauled muchwith it in the last few years the new spur roads are pretty narrow up here and there hasn't been that much hauling going on. I wish i could use it more its sad seeing it just sit there

OK, That's a different truck. The old SBL #3 is back up and running today as well. It's good to hear you saved one in working order- there are still a few around Southeast!

Looks as though DD believes in keeping his trucks in top notch shape. Two thumbs up.
