The SC state forestry commission uses them to haul small dozers, but they have folding ramps on the beavertail.

I had a similar set up when I was in CA. I sold the ramp truck and got a dump truck just before I moved to CO. The set up you have in the picture works well in urban areas where parking can be ab issue (as well as driving a truck and trailer through heavy traffic). BTW the rig in your pictures is displaying Arizona plates.

We have one we use to haul a Vermeer t455 trencher. It's a kenworth t800. Works well and let's you hang the tail over a curb. We had one we used to haul a Dozer when we did residential.

There is a few Companys here in Texas that use a roll off flat bed.Like the ones on a Wrecker just stronger.Forestry used to have the tilt decks but are going to ramps.

Most rental companies use 3 axle rollbacks to deliver equipment up to backhoe or D-5 size. Cresco rents has a few 3 axle trucks with hydraulic beavertails on them in addition to thier fleet of rollbacks.

I have seen ten wheeler dump trucks with ramps built into the back to load the hoe then flip the gate up and load the material. I have seen more than one of these setups running round.

Sunbelt, The Cat Rental Store, etc use tandem heavy duty roll-backs (like towing companies use just the industrial version) around here to deliver equipment. The State Forestry Service has ramp trucks that haul their fire dozers on, that's the only ramp trucks I can recall seeing in my area.

Height gets to be an issue quick unless you have a low pro truck. If your consistently hauling/delivering the same or simular sized things they would be handy. Myself & alot of the guys in my area use a dump and tag trailer.

This is a picture of an older roll off truck I used for years to haul bobcats. Height was not ever a problem. Of course you would want to verify your area to make sure of that. This truck was perfect for very tight locations where a trailer would be hard to get to.

Ha ha Reel if you look in the background of my pic above you will see the red twin of your truck :) Even rust in the same place. Not a roll-off tho a flat dump..

I've always thought the roll-off was an under-used concept- think about it- a company with a small fleet of skips and/or skid steers and/or mini-ex type equipment, each with it own tray, with a place for all it's attachments. He could drop off the equipment in different places, and no one has to climb onto a truck with equipment. Then he can run boxes for awhile moving trash and mat'ls, then pick up the self-contained water truck and do dust control- sky's the limit- and all with just one power unit, with all it's expensive insurance and fees...
