Looking for comments about the CDs that cover many models of equipment. Ebay has several vendors and I don't know if any of them are any good. If you have had experience with any of them, please give your rating. The joker that sold me my backhoe was going to send me a hard copy original Case Shop manual and has flaked on me. Looks like he probably tried or has sold it on the side.
Thanks, Case52

So frustrating when people do that to you. Some people are always just out there trying squeeze every cent they can and not caring about what they sold the previous guy. Sounds like you made a good hook up here though! Thank goodness for good people, too bad there aren't more of them.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the help and simpathy. I have another post going about the brakes on my 580SD. Just took the floor boards off last night and sprayed engine degreaser on where ever it needed. I'm not sure if I need to rebuild the Slave Cylinders or not since the masters failed right from the start. I have no idea if they are working well enough or not. The 580SD is a turbo and has a different brake system than the 580D. It has discs rather than bands. I have been on the Case website and seen the components but are unsure of what to remove and what not to remove from the outer brake system Springs, Levers, adjustment nut, etc...) There is a dust boot at the top and cannot see if it is without flaws. Hate to mess with what is not broken but also don't want to put it back together and have it fail within hours. Any thoughts. Case 44rs, I will email my address when I get the serial #and full model #. Not sure how to just send that info to you without throwing it in the thread and not sure I want the whole world having that info. I will figure it out or let me know what I can do. What does your CD have and how much do I need to send you?
Thanks, Case52

The only one I've seen were mediocre scans of a used manual (dirty fingerprints). Guy paid $20-$30 for it... The real deal is about $130. Not worth it to me.

You can contact most members by simply putting your cursor on the persons username. That would be in the upper lefthand corner of their post. A small window will pop up and give you the options for contacting them or you can view their profile.

Thanks for your help on this case44rs. Sorry you didn't find a CD copy of the 580sd. Anyone else have a good experience with the CD manuals on Ebay?

i just bought a manual on cd on ebay for my 580 sk... so far so good, haven't had a chance to really dig through it yet, but it seems like a complete doc, it's just the scanned version of the paper manual, but at least it's bookmarked so you can just click on the section you want and it take you straight to it. I think it cost $6 and $15 for shipping! redonkulous... $15 to mail a CD? but the seller also emailed me a link after purchase so i could download it and use it right away and not have to wait for a cd to show up in my mail box!

Thanks jbiach. I just bought one a couple of days ago from one of the places I bought parts from. It was $30.00 but no shipping since it was thrown in with my order. The quality is good but maybe a little light in the contrast department. This one is from a company called ESPCOR.com. If I went direct, it looks like the download would have been 18.95 but no CD? They have a few other manuals, but very little on Case. Got lucky that this was one they coverd. Didn't realize when I bought this model that it was so unique. The 580SD (turbo) was different in a lot of ways and the spare parts are pricy and hard to find except directly from Case. A Master cylinder gasket for the cover was $52.00 at Case. Live and learn.
Thanks for your reply, Mark

jbaich, did you order yours from a guy from quebec? If so thats the same guy i got mine from, very awesome quality, but I was really dissapointed with how the guy did business, and how long it took for his manual on cd to get to me, 3.5 weeks, from quebec to saskatchewan!
