Gauge cluster display months ago began to 'reset' while running. By 'reset' I mean the Screen would go blank, sound toned with three tones then the screen would reset with the word "OK" in the display along with the temperature and fuel 'column bars' maxing out. All the while the machine continued to operate. Months ago this would happen infrequently, like 2 or 3 times per day. With time this same combination of resetting, sounds and temperature/fuel column bars maxing out became more frequent until now the gauge cluster display is not working. At the suggestion of the Kobelco dealer I've checked the harness wiring where it rubs on the trays for the computer.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. thanks

hi,
please provide your model and proper serial number.
i do not have much to go on without knowing your exact machine.

Hi,

I'm thinking about buying a 2001 Kobelco sk210, but the controls are opposite to what my other machines have; the boom is on the left and the stick on the right. Is it possible to switch this, and if so, how?

Thanks

it is easy to switch the controls over. if has no pattern changer then you will switch the pilot hoses at the pilot sensor manifold located behind the cab under the compartment floor panel/cover. do not let swing away from you or will brake sensors.
you switch the hoses closest to you. se-3 with se-7 & se-4 with se-8.
cheers!

1996 MKIV 200 LC SNYQU2739
noticed today that in addition to the temperature, fuel gauge, and travel speeds the hour meter is not working either. The only thing working is the auto accel light.

hi,
it sounds to me that likely the gauge cluster display itself has failed.
slim chance can be possible that the C-2 gauge cluster controller (display computer) has failed instead.
c-2 is the control of the "idiot" lights, alarms, fault codes, warning sounding buzzer...
this c-2 controller computer is located behind the cab seat underneath the console. the frame under the plastic covering unbolts to remove to access.
along the corners and the front portion. the c-2 controller is on the tier shelf 2nd one down to the back right.
the part numbers are
* YN59S00027F1, GAUGE CLUSTER DISPLAY, LIST PRICE $ 1,991.23 CDN ( stock @ kobelco parts depot usa ) *
2480U371F4, C-2 GAUGE CLUSTER DISPLAY CONTROLLER $ 2,419.94 CDN ( stocked part on our shelf )

now do not fret...i have had some luck fixing them at times, an avenue you may want to consider?
to save you diagnose time, the display is the same in basically all the kobelco mark iv models...do you know a friend that you can plug in yours to see if it works or not?
do you have an electrical schematic on your model or checking wiring blindly?
if you e-mail me i can reply with tech info

Kobelco SK130LC

Hello Mr Kobelco et al,

I have just taken delivery of a Kobelco SK130LC. Serial #YPU 2328. It's marked with a Dynamic Acera decal but I cannot find out much info on what this meant for this machine. It does not appear to have a computer in it just a lot of relays. So this is more related to hydraulics controls I guess?

This machine is in nice shape (5500 engine hours showing) but needs the usual stuff such as hoses which I'll be pleased to replace. However, I have a new 42" bucket with a monster thumb from Bodine to go on it. Now considering the weight I was wondering if thoughtful people ever add to the counter weight to balance the new extra weight on the end of the dipper stick?
The bucket/thumb weighs in at 1,800 lbs. The thumb is 800 lbs plus cylinder.

Anybody?
Thank you from Winnipeg, MB, CA.

hi,
year: 1998
KOBELCO SK130LC IV (MARK 4)
the " U " in the ser# means usa built at the plant in Calhoun, Georgia.
this was a Hertz Equipment Rental owned unit.
if you open the cover of the display and remove the plate a hidden digit would be revealled under showing whether or not the hour meter has clocked
over 10,000 hours.
its not a dynamic acera
generally the standard bucket would be a 36", 0.75 cu. yd.
if 42", 0.875 cu. yd.
usually a 42" or 48" would be a ditching bucket.
if you provide your e-mail address i can send you some more info.
hf_hydraulics@hotmail.com
cheers!
Adam.

Thanks Adam. This might be good place to let other buyers know that some sellers will put false decals on a machine for sale to make it seem a better deal than it is. I have seen other mark 4 lookalikes with the same Dynamic Acera decals. No surprise I guess. That said my new toy has only 05547.6 hours on it seems low for a Hertz rental machine. I might say that Kobelco must build em pretty tough as I haven't found a single crack - yet although the bucket was a shambles (rentals probably take more of a beating). Kobelco sent me a manual for the SK120LC - it appears the same do you know what the difference was? Thanks for the info - much appreciated.

Where is a good place to buy manuals for Kobelco's? Our manual seems to be lost for our SK130.

Also want to switch our controls to match our Komatsu 27MR, any diagrams handy for this kind of swap?

Also to shut off the machine we have to pull a clothes hanger out on the back of it to shut it off, haha, I know pathetic, but we bought it this way. How is it supposed to be?

Serial YPU2331

Thanks Ricky

hi,
swing brake solenoid ?
swing brake release ?

likely swing brake solenoid,
the swing brake solenoid has failed and will require replacing asap!
do not use machine for when you swing and dig the hyd swing motor brake will not be releasing and end up costing you more money.
the solenoid is located in behind the cab under the compartment floor panel. remove panel carefully as so it does not swing away from your control or you may possibly snap off any one of the pilot sensors underneath.
the solenoid is the one to the far end of the block nearest the center of the machine.
part# YB35V00006F1
new number # YN35V00051F1
cheers!

if both machines are of the same generation you can, but please note,
the swing brake solenoid is one of a kind unique to this circuit and is different from the other seven solenoids.
cheers!

hi ricky,
i just e-mailed a file to you on switching controls from cat over to jd.
please take a digital pic of your fuel injection pump and surrounding area for visual of type of inj pump and throttle control.
some of the cummins engines came with rotary style fuel inj pumps others later with the inline fuel inj pump
the engine shut-down control to stop the fuel is handles different
cheers!

Yes sir, they're both identical (S/N, Year etc.) Well the bad solenoid have been replaced and the error screen is no more, now i'll have to purchase another solenoid for my other SK210 // "YN35V00051F1" - can you qoute me a price on this solenoid? I've checked the online catalog at the Kobelco website under GS Equipment - $671.49. Wow this thing is expensive. If u can supply at a cheaper price let me know.
