So who else has gone to a Ritchie auction in north east md before? Will they let you test the equipment before the action? In the pics, it doesnt look like there is much room to test stuff.

So anyone else thinking of going?

Been there dozens of times and will most likely be there this one. Yes you can test the equipment out. No digging holes though. It is very overwhelming if you have never been to an auction of that size before. The small stuff like buckets and atachments go off on a timed auction. It is just like ebay. They have kiosk set up so you can place your bids. Many ppl, including myself, are not happy with it. PM me your contact info, I'll let you know if I am going for sure and we can meet up.

Just realized that the auction is in 2 days. I will not be able to go as we have a foundation to hammer out.

Talked to 2 of my buddies that went and they said that everything was high. Alot of japs there buying everything up, so you know where they are going. They said that there were (5) 2004 Cat 330's and a japanese guy bought all 5 of them. They said everything was going to Japan and Germany.

Sale prices went crazy stupid. (2) cat 627g's brought 340k per, next lot were (2) cat 627e's that brought 30k, per. Does a letter matter that much? Both were nice machines. Then all the dozers went high, for instance a wooped mitisubighi bg2g that didnt steer right and track were falling off, leaked oil, and smoked brought 5k... to a nice 550g deere's 18k... I dunno what was going on. Oh, and a sweet cat 6k w/ 1400 hrs brought 110k.

Oh well better luck next time.
