We use a millwaulkie with 1/2 chuck. I have had pretty good luck. I have not cut anything larger than 2". We usually contract
out the bigger stuff. I use the mag drill to power and feed the cutter. The stuff works out good for us.

we bought that same one about 2 years ago, seemed like a good company to deal with. We got the 3/4 Milwaukee mag drill, the 11" stroke, variable speed and swivel base makes things go so smooth. The guy I talked to there told me that was the best money I could spend and he was right. I would not change a thing about that setup.

Quack, Sounds like I am going to have to step up and get the 3/4 drill. We don't mind payin for the larger jobs, they pull in with enclosed trailer, bore welder and all of the trimmings. But, when I can go out and bore and rebush and single hole on small equip and get them back in the dirt, the money that we have invested is well worth it. Around here when the contractor comes out its usually an all day job and cost us roughly 300/ hole. Good luck in the new year..

Wrench, I have not ran the setup with any other drill, yours might be fine. I almost cheaped out and went with a 750.00 mag drill, 3" stroke and no swivel base would work, just not as convenient. Never have ran anything else, Just know there is nothing I would add or change. Do you prefer bore welding or bushing's?

Quackattack, I have gone both ways with the bushings, usually depends on how fast the machine
needs to be back in service. We have had over sized bushings made. I have the cheaper milwalkie
mag drill, but we had the drill before the line bore. So we were trying to "economically (((big word))
build our rigging. Any more it seems I'm too busy with the wrenchin end of things to have time to do the boring.

You will like it granpa, the only advice i have is keep you support bearings as close to your cutting as possible. They send some longer supports for the bearings that make setting up your centering cones easier, but you will notice quite a bit of chatter if you use them. Good luck.

Interested to hear if it does the trick, and how easy it is to operate. What is your boring application?
