A few weeks ago this computer was hit by a virus, and after calling in a bit of support from a computer expert, he removed the virus and made some recomendations.

one of the things that he recomended was to switch to a new browser, I was using IE8 but from what he said it is susceptable to all forms of malware and spyware etc. Instead he recomended the Maxthon2 browser which I did install finally and for the last few days it seems as though the computer is working like new! To say the least I'm very happy with how it all works and would recomend it to others having trouble with IE8. Just my two cents.

The nice feature that Maxthon2 has is it isolates browser tabs so if you have one that is stuck the others keep running. This means you will have far fewer browser crashes.

I also like GOOGLE Chrome. It is fast and reliable. I kind of gave up on Mozzila due to the constant crashing.

Mozilla crashing? Never had the problem other than on web pages trying to do things they are not supposed to.

I use mozilla about four hours a day. Have not had a crash in about five years.

I highly recommend Mozilla firefox. I even use their e-mail client thunderbird. The backup program mozbackup will let you backup your settings then if your hard drive goes south then you can easily backup and not need passwords re-installed.

Never heard of Maxthon2 but will definitely take a look. I avoid IE whenever possible because of viruses

It looks interesting especially the part that isolates tabs. I use both firefox and Chrome and I crash them both frequently, it can be frustrating.

I can't try it out though it looks to be only for Windows and I don't have Windows on my computer, just Linux. But from what Leon says maybe I will be able to check it out when version 4 comes out?
