The Ministry of Labour is investigating after a heavy crane toppled as crews worked on a new bridge linking Barrhaven to Riverside South.

No injuries were reported when the crane fell onto another at the construction site of the new Strandherd Armstrong Bridge Wednesday afternoon.

Construction on the bridge started in late July. The $48-million project will link Barrhaven to Riverside South. It is expected to be complete in two years.

I suppose it could have send the extractor sailing to the moon... whether the ex. slipped or the piling broke.. or lost friction in the soil.
