Thanks for the heads up Jim:drinkup

Atco, The problem with the loader in question is the forward/reverse control valve on the motor is shot! it has 2 solenoids that control a spool that divert the oppisite sides of the motor!

Like i said its not a job im at meself, but helping out an old workmate so don,t know alot about it! Thought if anyone knew who makes the componets we could try that route as the Volvo dealer is asking an arm and a leg (even thougth this guy worked there for 35 plus years! retired last year and is only doing a few od jobs at these loaders etc to keep busy! No loyality with that company eh!)

Best of it is, he had a complete old motor lying about his yard for years, scrapped it last year and it had these parts on it:Banghead:Banghead

Maybe someone can help out there

Thanks Again, Aiden

Pretty sure that Volvo makes their own motors. I worked for Bell and we had Volvo wheel motors on a feller buncher. They may contract them out and have them built to their specs. Is the motor shot or just the control valve? Electrical or hydraulic problem?

a lot of the older machines had SWF switches on them, don't know where SWF went to can't find a lot of info on them on the net

any part numbers etc. on the solenoids

are the solenoids unique to that particular valve or are there similar ones used elsewhere on the machine

must be someone German so other than bosch zf rexroth danfoss who else is left

have a look in the other posts on this board, and you will see that it appears that a few people here work as service techs for Volvo, maybe they might be able to post you the parts from far away

Still needing parts? I work as a Field Tech for VOLVO here in the states, I don't have alot of customers with the 50 series, but I have a few. What problem exactly are you having?
Are you 100% sure it is in need of the entire valve? If so what actually failed? I have not had the valve body fail, but have had to r/r solenoids before.
