Don't think I've ever seen such a complete failure as that. The front idler is obvious but it also looks like the dead axle is broken too.

Supervisor to owner: maybe we should pay a little better wages to the next operator.

Seen a few D6's crack there, we always checked them and welded them if they needed to be when we we're do undercarriages!

Never seen one go that far though... ouch!!!

I hate ROCK. Its too expensive. Looks like you might have a patent there.

Are the track pins bushing worn out? Usually on early d6h's track chains get long measurment between ilder & roller frame is to much. This causes them to break at a machined out spot on the inside. The later d6h's where not machined out as much & they didn't have as much problems. Mike, panman

That machine looks like it has Cats quad link or tri link track system on it, has the outer link assembly on the plates to give them more strength. Guess thats a good reason why you shouldnt use a swampy in rocky conditions.
