That should be a interesting job. What type of grinder are you using? I’m thinking a tub grinder.

Are all the spikes and tie plates off all the ties? Or do you have to check for them as you load?

This looks like one of these projects that will be fun for a day or two but after the 1000th scoop of ties you will be getting bored. However that can be how alot of projects like this are, we are stripping quarries right now and 200+ haul truck loads a day, my arms are tired from digging so much.

Thanks

Trbo

You could have put a free sign on them here they would have been gone in a week.
there was a pile here about 2 years ago that had a sign on them ...FREE...
it was about 300 ft long 6 to 8 feet tall. after a week the only thing left was splinters..

I think they sell for about 8 bucks around here usually...

Nice looking hoe you have there. Just imagine if you could steal a self leveler off of a 959K. That would be one hell of a machine!!

yeah i believe they sell for about $8-13 here too, would have been quite a bit of spending money even if you sold them for a fraction of that. like you said even if you gave them away for free you could still benfit by eliminating landfill cost guessing that they went there?

so job took 3 weeks as usual they shipped me out for a week and stuck a seat filler there so not much was done .just my plans turned upside down as usual . In BC as far as i,ve been told they cant be used because environmental reasons .so i grind them up and a trucking company trucks them down to Everett WA it gets burned as hog fuel i think !!!!
