some from last week ....subs started moving dirt this week ,going kinda slow right now the terrain is still to steep in alot of places to pull the pans so they were loading them with the 365 but then they were still having trouble pulling them so they dropped down to one pan....

That silt fence will really make a difference....expecially on top of the hills :tongI never understood why you have to surround the project with it......:beatsme I could see the downside of the project not on top of the hill

The silt fence is for erosion control, to keep any material (ex. mud) from leaving the site. The E.P.A. will fine you heavily if anything goes into a nearby creek or river. We have protected wetlands below our site and we have to check our silt fence once a week.

Silt fencing, single and double rows, check dams, temporary retention ponds, grassing, wattles, etc, etc are all part of the BMP (Best Management Practices) plan that the Civil Engineer designs for a site. The BMP plan is required before you get a NPDES (National Pollution Discharge Elimination System) permit from the State, which is required by the EPA for any site disturbance over 1 acre. Here is a link to the regulations.

To say the least, the rules are quite stringent and a site inspection by the EPA can be grueling.:bash
