Friend of mine has a Cat 277B with a bad drive motor...another friend of mine has a ASV RC100 that burnt up...and when I say burnt up I mean NOTHING left but steel...no paint...no plastic...no rubber (tracks...rollers..etc) not even any aluminum it got HOT and burned itself out because it was out on a remote site and no one knew it was on fire (they think it was arson)...any chances that the drive motors would be rebuildable? I assume that any seals inside them are toast...but I am wondering if the motors are interchangeable and if so if the ASV motors could be salvaged....I have NEVER seen a machine this burn up...there is literally nothing left except steel

boring no really!
i am not that familiar with the asv's and cat machines, i do know they use alot of the same drive parts. however,i would stay away from doing this the old rule of thumb was if there is still paint on it it's is still ok, but if its burnt up like ur saying i would'nt take the chance since there could be tempering issues along with warping of the metal. it might come back to haunt you

Yea, they are a bit pricey. I just bought one last week for my 287. The motor split the case, and there are no parts available but a whole assembly.
