I agree, it sure does look pristine. I for one though would certainly not go out of my way to work on one, absolutely no room to work ANYWHERE - The top deck is like an obstacle course, literally. They must be doing something right though, their popularity down under shows this.

I've never worked around a Liebherr hoe or shovel, so I'll have to take your word on the no room to work issue. I know how much fun that can be. I find it strange they haven't developed the following in North America that they have down under. I know there was talk at one point of us getting a 996. But they decided it was too small for our needs, and ended up buying North American's RH400 instead.
I do feel sorry for the poor saps who will have to try running and keeping the Komatsu dozer and grader fleet going though....been there, done that, and if I never have to do it again, that'll be just fine with me.

alco are there any loaders or backhoes over at syncrude and how many of each type of equipment do you guys have and maybe syncrude should look at purchasing an R9800 front shovel or R9800 backhoe
Currently we have lots of smaller loaders, the largest of which is a WA700. We have a few WA600s, 500s, 420s, 380s, 988s, etc, etc. Word is we have a 994F coming next year, but nothing is confirmed. By backhoes, I assume you mean excavators. We have an RH120, EX1200, and a whole mess of 800s, 750s, 450s, etc. We are supposed to be getting another large hoe for ripping next year, but no word on what it will be.
I wouldn't hold my breath on us getting a 9800. We have the T282Bs, and that has given us more Liebherrs than we'd like. When we can't keep a fleet of these running well enough to beat the availability numbers of an antique fleet of 793Bs with tons of hours on them, it's almost embarrassing.
If it says Liebherr on it, I doubt you'll see it coming onto our sites.

well besides the rh400 the second largest shovel is liebherr R9800 and what about syncrude getting an hitachi EX8000 or Komatsu PC8000
I don't believe they have any immediate plans to buy any new hydraulic shovels, so I would say it's not too likely.

I like the look of the 830 AC's ... The one's up at GH operations are the most reliable piece's of fleet ...

haha, im not trying to offend anybody here but if you someone doesnt like to hear about machines being personified, then they probably arent an operator hahaha. its a love/hate relationship depending on the machine, gotta love em good... am I right or am I right?
