Your own pictures could use a few captions:confused:

I know your neighbors make a darn fine whiskey by burning the stuff but what specifically do you do on a bog and why?

Great set of pics:thumbsup
I spotted a 3 point linkage on the Dozer, is that something you ordered or fitted from another make/model?
One hitachi sported some serious high clearance and wide pads , just wondering what is the application for this?:beatsme
Thanks again keep them coming
Eddie.

RobVG, we harvest peat for growing plants etc, the ex100 is used mostly for digging the peat straight out of the bog. it can travel places i cant even walk. HEAVYLIft, the guy that was driving that machine thought he could just bring a narrow tracked machine into the middle of the bog to clean a drain, which is a stupid idea, but some mothers do have them. it took a week to pull it out. and it destroyed that part of the bog for many years to come. it was 650m from solid ground. FLAMETAMER, the track conversion under the newholland was done by a company in the north of Ireland, the actual track frame was built by a company called KH originally intended for turf cutting machines. BIGBLUEOX, the undercarraige under the ex100 was made by ourselves, we have an engineering business as well. EDDIE, the dozer actually came from euro auctions here in ireland it was used in japan for making football fields and came with the wide pads, linkage etc. i would love to get another one but cant find any.

the ex 100 has exactly 6foot pads and its hard to explain the way it has been risen. we cut out the square piece under the slew ring from another undercarriage and put it on top of this one. it also has an extra section added in for more length or one roller. its used mainly for digging peat straight from the bog. we can also straddle drains with it for cleaning them out.

where there is a will there is a way....

as for three point hitches on bulldozers.... deere made some 350 and 450's up untill the d series i think with three point, but they didnt change the back of the dozers till the h's so you might be able to get a deere instead of a cat with three point.

sorry i didnt mean one with the 3 point linkage, i mean one with wide pads. the pads on the cat are 3foot 6. and the liebherr has 5foot pads but at 180000euro they are just to expensive. the cat only cost 33000

Could you show some more pics of the undercarriage and how its made.

Like around the bullgears on the little cat or the mods you made on the ex100.

Do you make those extra wide pads or buy them?

Sorry to ask so many questions but bog machines is something we seem to be far behind in over here.

Thanks, Rod

The little cat seems like it came from the factory this way, so i really dont know much about what all has been done or if you can even buy the pads on it. the ex100 pads are made from three sets of 600mm pads being welded together, it was done this way because we had the pads sitting there, some of the other machines we done have 4ft pads and then plates welded to each end to get the extra width.TECHNICAL DATA

AWesome Machine:thumbsups! Great Pics! Did the hitachi excavator get damaged when the track got off the edge of the dig? It looks like its (the track) twisted around pretty good. Do you use the standard drive motors, or install larger ones? Very cool!!!
