Dozerdave, not sure of the lowboy's rating but the biggest gear it carts include a PC2000,5130,Ex1900 & 1800 and 2 D575's.

Rigandig, thanks for the specs. What is the gcm, will they give you 120t with 46# diffs? My star is 106t because i wanted to stay with 46's and run 4.3:1 for economy. If i had've gone to 4.56 52's i'd get 120t. Add a 2spd joey box and it goes out to 150t.
Cheers

You can move a Cat 375 whole in Cali? Is it a superload permit or something, Maximum weight in Mass. is 130,000 lbs unless you get a superload permit which can be pricey.

It's not whole, the bucket is off of it:D

Each state is a cluster.... of regulations.

Here that 9 axle combination can permit for the following:

Steer axle 22,000
Tandem drive 46,750
10' wide 16 wheel jeep 60,000
10' wide 16 wheel trailer 60,000
10' wide 16 wheel booster 60,000

Total gross (if you can balance it) 248,750#

Tare weight about 75,000 approximately

Weights for each state could be a huge thread all on its own, and we would be more confused than we already are.

I like the way they do it down under. Thay must have had enough sense to build the bridges tall enough to have a flat deck trailer that you just drive up on and don't worry about the height.
I wish we could use those Drake trailers here.

Look like to much work essayer to just drive it up the ramps block the front wheel so the hitch clears the neck and away you go.

:my2c I disagree due to the fact in the States 90% use detachable trailers so it is easier to load going forward thus hauling the scraper backwards, also it can be very difficult to get the load distribution if you can't get the tractor over the gooseneck, with many trailers you can't accomplish this without running the tractor up on blocks, in recent years however they have designed trailers with lower profile goosenecks to alleviate this problem, however it's still easier to load and haul the scraper backwards all you have to do is place blocks under the cutting edge, cram the pan down re-hitch then raise the pan to rest the scraper on the gooseneck.

We could have a thread on that, I don't know why the states can't adopt the same laws, confusing. Or at least be close to each other.

This setup of ours is legal to 186,000 in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Other bordering states would throw our drivers in the big house for having the[ drop axels not chained up.
I know its a bit under-loaded here, but its another one of our lowboys, so I thought I would add it to the collection.

Not all bridges are tall enough but we do have a stained height of 4.6 meters for pan tec and normal load's if you are over this height you need a permit or in my state it is called a letter of no objection which can last 3 moths to a year depending on the size you want to move, this permit come with a condition report which list the road you can and can not go on due to road work time of year it also has the bridge heights listed on the main routes, the street directory also has bridges heights listed which is all most correct most of the time on the really low bridges they install height waring lights

I know its not a lowboy, but its a specialized trailer that was built quite a few years ago by our company for setting our pug mill silos. This happend to be the first time Ive ever watched it in operation, so I took the time to get a few pics.

That would happen to be HHA (Heavy Haul Australia) would it? Those HHA boys have some serious big iron!

I wish those trailers were California legal because they really look like the best and easiest way to move the really really large iron.

Yes it is HHA and they have some very neat looking trucks and trailers, There are a few company's that operate that type of trailer near me
