we are grinding more trees at oran park, will be around 3000 cubic metres of mulch. the clearing was done by the civil contractor, around 50 or 60 triaxle loads of logs went to a sawmill and for firewood, we sheared and ground the rest.

trees

how many trees did you take down in all? Did you burn any of the scraps, or how did you get it all out of there? When they trucked it out, did they recycle the wood or did it go to the dumps?

did the greenies give you guys a hard time about this at all?

we did not do the clearing, the company doing the earthworks/subdivision knocked over the trees and hauled it all to an area away from the earthworks,
there were a lot of trees, after the logs went to the sawmill the rest of it covered an area of around 5 acres, no burning allowed here, huge fines for burning. the only stuff trucked out were the logs to a sawmill and the rest of the logs trucked out were taken by a firewood guy. the mulch left will be used on site. no trouble with greenies, the subdivision is approved and the clearing approved with the subdivision.

the first lot we ground they used all the mulch for landscaping in the upgrade of cobbity rd which runs past the subdivision and i guess they will use all the much from the last job in landscaping for the subdivision, you are a little off with organic soils, the company you are thinking of is organic fertilizers which cleans out the litter/fowl manure from chook sheds after the chicken farmer has raised a batch of chooks, they then spread this on farmland as fertilizer.

Cool, thought it might've been. The dairy farm location might explain all the flies hanging around the JD tractor too!:D. I wonder what the correlation is between radio folk and oil, it seems to be in the same vein as John Laws and 'You know what I mean' in getting a radio bloke as a spokesperson...always reckoned Lawsy might've had a nip of XLD every so often to keep the vocal chords nice and smooth!!:bouncegri
