Friday, 12 June 2009 14:05
Raiders have used a mechanical digger to remove an ATM from a Bank of Ireland branch in Co Kilkenny.
The robbery took place at around 5.30am when a JCB was driven directly into the front of the Bank of Ireland branch in Graiguenamanagh.
The branch is directly opposite Graiguenamanagh Garda Station, which was unoccupied at the time.
Gardaí say a substantial amount of money was taken and they are looking for two cars and a trailer which they believe were used as getaway vehicles.
Last Friday, thieves used a mechanical digger to steal an ATM from Mother Hubburd's restaurant near Moyvalley, Co Meath.
