Hey everyone. I just found these forums. I have been around trucks, heavy equipment and the transportation industry for 25 years.
I am a Corporate Technician Trainer for the largest trucking company in the US. I hope I can be of help and a contributer to these forums.

I just dropped by to introduce myself. I am in the Dallas, TX area and I do not currently have any equipment. I am originally from the Pittsburgh area where I had my own construction company focusing on concrete wall construction. We had a few pieces of equipment but not where we focused our energy. I am now curious about getting more involved in the excavation end of it all and doing the research it takes before making a commitment.

Hey guys. I have been operating grader since I was 16, so twenty years or so, with a mixture of logging equipment and construction equipment thrown in. Most of my experience is in the forest industry with some finishing thrown in, spring breakup is time for some finishing. We have a few graders with the new one a 872D. Found some very interesting posts so I thought I would throw in my 2 cents now and again. Take it easy.

hi everyone, iam a council worker from adelaide and thought id join the forum now im back operating machinery.i got my ticket for an excavator about 5,6 years ago and spent aprox 2 years operating a 320b cat 20t esky and operating a 924 cat loader every now and again and driving the beloved and clapped out cat dump truck the size 15 and a 30 t pay load trucks.

i have only really ever done mainly bulking and carting work. i then went into infrastructure maintance and didnt operate machinery for the last couple of years. but have gone to work for the local council in the last couple of weeks doing foot path reinstatements so now i am operating again.
currently i am driving a truck with a 8spd dog box and trailer i spend more time pulling trailers to and from site(lol) i operate a little 1.5 t excavator, a john derre 744j loader, a cat 938 i think it is loader a 4 t roller and also tow the caravan and toilet to site. i also do most of the carting and loading of trucks down to our site as we have our own stock piles in the yard

its different being back out in the construction side of things again im almost bored lol because im not out driving around doing nothing anymore like maintance but im sure ill get over it.

anyways id thought id join up and have a few yarns with some operators from around the world as its not what i know its what i can learn that will make me a better operator

Essayons, i joined because this is one of the coolest forums i have found. There is everything an equipment junkie could want to find in here. I work for the corp and we test military vehicle mobility so i do a good bit of heavy equipment hauling as well as operating (equipment and test vehicles). We have 2 D7F's, a 12G, and numerous other specialized military vehicles. Its a cool job.

Wind generators, hey Gregg. Poor bugger - you realize that without the government incentives those things are money pits, right?

Hello, my name is Mike. I grew up around heavy equipment. My dad has tried to keep me away from the industry. He has had to work his butt off and he wanted wanted me do something else. He has made great money, but has realized there are easier ways to make it. Well, to make a long story short: I work for a underground utilities contractor here in Phoenix, Arizona as a Project Manager / Estimator. We have a large fleet of Trenchers and specailize in hard rock. My father is proud of the direction I have taken.

If you have any question, Just ask.

Mike

Just wanted to say hey. I've been in the family construction business for almost 10 years but due to the times we decided to close while ahead. I now paint heavy equipment and trucks in Cincinnati.
