Hi I know its not really the the right thread to post it but it seemed the closest. We have just brought a CAT TH62 (2001) but after driving it along the road when I got back to the yard and turned it off the hour clock, oil pressure light and load monitor stay on even after the ignition switch has been turned off. Soon as its started the oil light goes out and it runs like a dream.

I thought it was the igniton switch as it was a bit battered and after spraying a bit of WD40 it stopped doing it once so I have changed that but it still does it. I have also looked for loose wires but can seem to find any. The only thing I can think of is if it could be a relay and if not where the loose wire could be.

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of it and what could be causing it. Also if anyone knew where I could get a operators manual for it as I have tried ebay and finnings but they'll take 5 to 6 weeks.

Thanks

Welcome to the Forums Cathandler!:drinkup

Does the TH62 models have a "one piece" instrument cluster like the 360B/460B models? The main reason why I got rid of my TH460B was the continuing problems with the gauges. Cat replaced it twice under warranty and the fuel guage was not working for a third time when I traded it in (that was the reason why the whole assembly was replaced twice). The first time we ran the lift out of fuel, the guage showed 1/2 tank. :bash

Thanks :)

All the guages seem to be working its just the hours well I guess the power that won't switch off even when I've turned the ignition off and removed the key. It will stop the machine but it seems as though its shorting somewhere and so still geting power.

Yeah, your going to have to get out the tester and do some checking. The 62 have individual gauges, and the electrical fuse panel is under the seat. Sounds like your key is cutting off the fuel solenoid, but not all of your acc. items. You aren't going to find it without a tester, and just start backtracking the system, Electrical is a ball of fun, ain't it. Wish I could give you a easy answer, but its one of those things that when you finally find it, it will be easy, but its finding it that's the problem.

I know we had trouble with a short on one of the old tractors turned out to be a broken wire up in the cab roof.

Shame there isn't a magic wand when you need one ahh well I'll have to get checking

Thanks
