I am about to replace the valve cover gasket on a 2018 Cat 259D. I was looking to see if anyone had the instructions from the service manual for this replacement? Or any tips that would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Start By:
a. Remove the glow plugs.
b. Remove the fuel injection lines.
Note: Refer to Specification UENR3421 "Engine Design" for non-specified engine Torque Values.
3. Remove bolts (4).
4. Remove valve mechanism cover (5).
5. If necessary, remove O-ring seal in valve mechanism cover (5) and replace with new.
Valve Mechanism Cover - Remove and Install
SMCS - 1107-010Removal Procedure
Start By:
a. Remove the glow plugs.
b. Remove the fuel injection lines.
Note: Refer to Specification UENR3421 "Engine Design" for non-specified engine Torque Values.
- Remove bolts (1) to remove brackets.
- Disconnect hose assemblies (2) and (3).
3. Remove bolts (4).
4. Remove valve mechanism cover (5).
5. If necessary, remove O-ring seal in valve mechanism cover (5) and replace with new.
Installation Procedure
- Install valve mechanism cover (5) in the reverse order of removal. Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 10 to 11 N·m (87 to 100 lb in).
