Cat herder.
No one believes me but I used to haul dispatcher brains occasionally. So top secret they didn't send any guards or escorts in case the extra security might tip somebody off.

Amazing cargo. Weighs virtually nothing and is completely invisible. When you open the doors it looks like you're hauling nothing.

I've also hauled motorcycle doors on occasion for a manufacturer that shall remain nameless...

;)

A funny heist.
Late eighties I had a tow on I-82 west bound mp11 Firing Center exit on top of Manashtash ridge
in the wide open sage brush. A cat powered pete with a hole in block. I took it to Yakima dealer
engine was fresh under warranty. Was pulling a dry van headed to Costco Seattle. Exit 11 has a
large paved area, dropped the trailer there, they were to make arraignments to have a trucking
company from Yakima pickup the trailer.
A call came back the next morning {do you know where our trailer is?} No. Someone stole their
trailer full of basketball hoops.

I know that exit out in the middle of nowhere. Lots of gear gets unloaded there and rolls through that gate onto the base proper.

Just speaking with Grand Nephew. Said remembered photo of Me with a Jeep and a 8 stack intake on a V8.
Old days, co-worker did 1/8th mile 4x4 drags, massive Paddle rear tires hand grooved floater fronts. His had a cut and hard sleeved 427 Lodeck GM bored 0.060 jello Coolant, 8 Stack Hillborn system with belt drive Alcohol Pump. Had to change “Pills” in feed and return lines to a chart based on Spec Grav of fuel and Ambient Temp. Always dinking around on something with that in the 80s. Forgotten as much as once knew of that set up. Solid Lifters all valves set to .014, would ‘Eject’ a pushrod now and then if rev limiter got adjusted to high. Swapped a number of Valve covers.

Willey City near Yakima was jeep racing spot, coarse and drags. Ellensburg was rife with 4x4's
back then, because of the eighteen canyons that skirted the valley, endless places to go.

Yesterday I had Laser surgery on right eye for very early stage {pressure was at a point
needed attention-glaucoma. Before I left it had dropped back to normal range, do the left
eye in two weeks. Zero issues after, even went on another tow today. I like broken trucks-s.

I posted before but going through folders I found them again, and repost.
This purple 362H has a thirty four o eight, I worked on it in early 90's, it had some
balls, was owned by the Chrome Brothers in the burg, hay hauler. Then it got sold
loaded on a ship and sent to the Netherlands where this custom painter did a recolor
plus a 359 he refinished. The mans work is really top notch best work I've ever seen.
These old trucks are hard to refinish without wavey panels. Perfect and a perfect
paint jobs on imperfect vehicles.

Previous Employer, Hogan Lsing was in Heat over the Spicer 7s. Drivers hated them, trucks were gutless, main use was even worse in F2275 Internationals, extra gate needed a Passenger to shift as was so far to the Right. Adopted Eaton Fullers later as found Clientele preferred, are now almost all Auto Shifts in their fleets.

Dodge truck cabs of the late 50 thru mid 70's was aka the Pilothouse cab. But one little
known fact about the 1973 to 1975 Dodge Bighorn which 261 were built/sold. The pre-
runner to the Bighorn was---the FWD A-7 built in 1971 very few built/sold, very few
images of it. But FWD created the A-7 which is believed to be the inspiration for the
Bighorn in 1973.
