As I’m learning this thing has been hacked on and was a bit cannablized and I’m sure I’ll never get the whole story.

Dumb question but a bit out of time?
Always a possibility I suppose.

The DJY prefix might be enough on its own. Hopefully there is only one P/N of injector for the whole range.

The fly in the ointment might just be the long block. I hope it’s the correct Arrangement Number to coincide with what was the original engine S/N……. There must be a million different arrangements of C-9.

After seeing some of the ‘stuff’ you guys are dealing with on these new and improved, so easily maintainable machines, so very glad got out of the business!
Yep and I often think back to the days a complete wiring diagram for a Cat 966C would fit on a 51/2 by 8 1/5 inch page at the back of the parts book.

And you could do an in chassis rebuild on a 3306 and only sheet metal removed was a hood held on with maybe four bolts, unless it had a belly pan then a few more bolts to drop that!

Nige I thought he wrote SLY prefix?
He did .......
But SLY is a G3516E genset engine.
Same question as above.

Also need to know if the tractor is fitted with Product Link because the 269-4 Diagnostic Code may be related to that system. Either way it does not appear that 269-4 will prevent the engine from starting.

So it is an SKL00370 s.n. Not sly. The injector part numbers are 20R 8063 and the old engine serial number was THX12309. I don’t have the arrangement number in front of me. Would I be able to find that on et or sis since I was plugged into it?

Pulling a D6T engine is the worst. IDE rather be tortured
This is the first dozer engine I’ve ever changed. So far I’ve got 66 hours into it not including my travel time.

20R8063 Reman njector P/N tallies with machine S/No and original engine Arrgt Number for THX12309 (301-5768 Arrgt). OEM injector P/N is 387-9434 although when the engine was built back in 2007 the injectors were 266-4446.

I assume the ECM from the original engine was used on the long block. What flash file Part Number does it have installed.?

You’ll have to connect to ET and check out the software part number that is in the engine ECM. It should be on the first screen that loads up when you get connected.

Ok. I won’t be back at the machine for a few days. I’ll report then. I appreciate the help. I work on so many different manufacturers that it’s hard to be proficient in all the computer programs.
