Packard could start making the V12 27 litre engine again. Nice economical engine burning 100 gal an hour at full noise. Variants from 1500 - 2500 hp.

Those old aircraft V-12's are idolized by many, cool yeah, okay for the job they were designed for. Even today using better materials they still have very short TBO's. And there is good reason for that.

Big Gas Pot engines? Well here's a one off that Kenworth built with the rare three man cab.
Powered by a 2182 cu.in. Hall Scott V12 Invader produced 600 plus hp. Couldn't afford the gas.

Now you're back to diesel fuel again. Hey what engine did the Sherman tanks of WW2 use? I kinda remember a radial aircraft engine of some sort. Shermans were supposed to be reliable over the German Panther
No...turbine can run on whatever you want.

For some reason the air-o-planes flying overhead seem to meet emissions.....

Land vehicles have much different regulations to meet.

Turbines eat way too much fuel that's the problem.

the other part of factor of turbine engines and aircraft is that jet engines have much lower fuel consumption up in the flight levels than down here at ground level. It’s one of the reasons that airliners fly way up there.
