anyone use a brush cutter on there machine

Rotary or mulching head. I'm not sure if it will run either of them effectively due to the weights- the 246 only has about 2100lbs of ROC. Most mulching heads are around 2300lbs and most rotary heads put too much of the weight out front making the machine spend time on its nose.

We've been using a 60inch brushcat rotary mower on a 863 bobcat on steel tracks clearing some trails works pretty good.

We're demoing a Baumalight MF 648 drum mulcher head next week. I'll keep ya posted. It is supposed to run on low flow machines. Hopefully the S185 will handle it!

Demo'd the bauma light mulcher and was pleasantly surprised. Would like to spend a good day test to see what productivity could be. Not worth the $10,00 right now.

the pt 100 is the king of mulching machines due to its weight and power. {also any other highflo attachments} plus i herd they just released a pressurized cab. you have to be extra carefull with your undercarrige maintnence but the smooth ride and stability makes it worth it, you have to treat it like a track loader and not like a skidsteer. it will spin around in its own space. i can turn ours around on the 102'' wide trailer to unload with the fecon on it. but that kind of twisting and turning in the woods is hard on any machine ,try that with a rubber tire rig with 2,000 plus on the front.
Do you mean hard on the rubber tracks by this statement? In terms of shredding them on wood and rocks?

hard on the rubber tracks and rubber lined idlers. lots of twisting and turning will be more prone to have rocks and sticks ending up in the bogie wheels chewing things up. and i have seen tracks torn on the edges. most damage can be avoided by working in straight lines and changing direction gradually rather than whipping it around. a good operator will get a repectable life out of an asv undercarrige, someone who has real dozer or full size track loader experiance and knows how to treat a track machine. after all a pt 100 weights 10,000 pounds plus the mower. {excuse the comparison} but if you stick johnny rental bobcat landscaper in an asv he will tear up the bottom in a week.:usa

What brand is the slasher / brush-cutter in the your first photo ?.
What sort of thickness regrowth can it cut down comfortably ?.
