Hey all!

Can anyone recommend any good resources for learning hydraulics? Im a level 1 student getting into that currently. The ITA books isn’t necessarily the best for some of the homework when it comes to schematic diagrams. Thanks!

Tim’s book is legit. I was a reviewer. The Eaton Mobil hyd manual is a good text. I adopted it when I was teaching, before Tim’s book got published.

It’s a very good book for industrial hyd and very product specific. I used it until the mobile hyd text was published.

For people with access to SIS, search for SEGV3010. Very good introduction to the basics.

Hydraulicsupermarket, by Brendan Casey
Brendan is pretty knowledgeable but is also very opinionated on some things. He seems to think he knows better than the OEM hydraulic engineers. One issue in particular is suction strainers. He is totally against them and claims they cause all kinds of problems. There are threads on here discussing it. Just wanted to point this out so you don't necessarily take his word as the gospel on all things hydraulic.
