IM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE RADIO THAT CAME IN MY 2007 CASE 1150K DOZER . THIS IS THE RADIO THAT CAME FROM CASE WHEN THEY BUILT THE DOZER . ITS MADE BY SOME OTHER MANUFACTURER THAN CASE BUT ITS THE RADIO THAT CAME NEW IN THE DOZER WHEN IT WAS BUILT , THE RADIO PICKS UP WEATHER FORCASTS AND DOES A BUNCH OF OTHER STUFF . THE PROBLEM IM HAVING IS THAT WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF THE RADIO PICKS UP REALLY WELL ALL THE STATIONS FM AND AM BUT WHEN I START THE DIESEL ENGINE I CANT PICK UP STATIONS VERY WELL STILL GET STATIONS BUT NOT LIKE WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF , AND I HAVE 5 ANTENNAS ON IT AT THE SAME TIME AND STILL THE SAME PROBLEM . AND ALL THE ANTENNAS ARE PLUGED INTO THE BACK OF THE RADIO . IM THINKING A BAD GROUND SOME WHERE . BUT IM OPEN TO ANY NEW IDEALS . I WILL POST THE EXACT RADIO AND MODEL LATER . NOT ABLE TO GET TO THE DOZER RIGHT NOW . OH AND THE DOZER HAS A FULL FORESTRY CAGE AROUND THE GLASS BUT I HAVE ANTENNAS ON THE INSIDE OF THE CAGE AND ON THE OUSIDE OF THE CAGE BUT STILL THE SAME PROBLEM . Please don't use all caps. It's considered yelling on the forum. I'd guess there's something electronic related to the engine or electrical system causing the problem. Kind of like some spark plugs interfere with radios. Maybe a bad resistor somehere.

Have you always had the problem since you obtained the dozer ?
Or is has it just started doing it ?
I never used factory radios because when I turned the volume up enough to hear it, it was stupid loud.
Good quality ear buds under hearing protection style earmuffs were awesome.
Digital Sony Walkman was my choice of radio.

Sounds like something is wrong with the reciever circuit. Maybe your antenna or antenna cable is high impedance?

Look at the antenna connector at the back of the radio for corrosion, and take a closer look at the antenna outside the cab.

You can try running a extra ground wire from the cab down to the frame. The cabs would be isolated with rubber antivibe, so it's possible the cab electrical has been isolated.

Work Tunes ear muff's are great. They have a max. volume of 82db. and you can still hear most problems if the engine or something else goes out of wack. That said, I never heard when the top swing mount on my backhoe ripped off. It was a very bizarre thing to break though. I noticed something seemed odd when I was swinging to dump the bucket. Poor design by Cat and factory undercut on the weld in bushing contributed to the catastrophic failure. Thankfully I was able to fix it myself. Had to buy another welder but it's paid for itself many times over. To hire someone to fix it, I figured would have been $3-4000 maybe more. The repair was a little more complex than just welding it back up.

Probably the same as used by John Deere. I highly doubt they make their own radios. Main thing is getting it working properly.

The aftermarket LED work lights will cause radio static especially the 6 to 36 volt type. Maybe the transformer in them??

Probably. The "LED drivers" (basically constant-voltage DC-DC power supplies) can be of very dubious quality, including lack of EMI filtering. Testing with the lights off is the easiest to test for that.
