Glad is down to cut and buff finish with install of trim pieces as far as external cab. Still need to work on right door inside latch, finish route of mirror wiring, hang grill surround.
Rear frame will need some spots primer sealed then paint that which is less than critical.
Really glad not painting this morning, trying to rain, 57 degrees. From one extreme swing the other way.

More buffing , that getting closer earlier today, moved to finishing lawn mowing, eyes full of dust and pollen, nose on fire inside, nasty as it dries down here. Did finish reassembling all the right fender parts. Getting ready to spot paint a few rivets I hit too harsh with cut and buff, then Eye Brow Visor goes back on with air horn trumpets. Picked up the frame paint, suggested I hit any bare spots with spot prime sealer I have remaining. Curious mix rate, 6:1:1, all three parts supplied, Gallon Paint Pint each Activator and Reducer. Satin Finish Black once dries. Also dug out a remnant sheet 1/4" plate for Fender Bracket bases, derived some rough measurements will cut the four frame plates and drill to mount as get ready to paint frame. Ordered four .024 SS precut sheets, need to find a decent way to radius the two for the Sleeper corners will be two additional in first panel on sleeper back next to those corners, rock beatings just too severe, and ordered a drop at least 4' of 2x2x .250 Sq Steel for rear support pieces.

Wife took photo as I washed rear frame areas, for paint.
All but Fenders, Grill insert and Walk Plates are on it now.

Beautiful, I'm with TS on the stacks, don't need no antenna feelers looking for low passes to touch unnecessarily. Just need a great angle view for new avatar image of it.

Looks fantastic DMiller! So if you’re not putting 8” diameter-way-too-tall stacks on it, should we all assume you won’t be tinting the windows too dark and putting a seat in it that barely lets you see over the steering wheel??

No super trucker Bull Rack gigantmo exhaust, wife would like draw shade style sun visor inside right door and MAY get her a school bus style green second w/s visor as the OEMs are not much of anything. No tint, no narrowed vision appliqués to W/S or side glasses, no need. Air ride that can sit almost on floor is in but I still prefer up to down, just adjustable for the day.

One oddity I AM putting back in beside the mufflers already on is the under hood insulation package. Is right at a grand but I suspect well worth it for noise and heat.

And y’all can laugh, one of my pet peeves is attended to. They fit well and bright enough to stand out, no worries of turbo or engine damage but exhaust is quite a bear to replace and expensive. For long duration parking.

Do the same with the tow truck. Chrome elbows aren't cheap.

We had a Case 9250 with a Cummins M11 that we learned the hard way would flood the entire exhaust system if parked a facing South. We learned quick to not park that direction, and use a bucket over the stack whenever possible.

Are permanent, get as much or more noise from engine compartment, should not see deposits inside bunk.

Got initial rear fender brackets cut out, moved on to wheels. One was really nasty, was coffee brown had so much something cooked to it. Tried diesel, nothing moved, stepped up to acetone, nada, enamel reducer still Nada. Grabbed lacquer thinner not much if any change so next trick oven cleaner. Laid there like water so off to store, aircraft paint remover. Laid it on almost putty knife thick, Barely nudged any at all so screw it out came DA 320/600/1000/1500.
No idea what kind of pasty crap it was but was a bear to move Off, gear oil or road oil cook tight. So worst rim cleaned up out came Zephyr buffer head and compound as well tyvek suit and respirator.
First pass heavy cut, still pitted but shines
First two wheels complete on firat pass.
