And it digs!
I’ve had lots of holdups. Changed valve caps, reset valve lash, saved my problematic exhaust b/c they’re hard to find, reassembled with new oil cooler and all gaskets. Turns in the mud now and picks up 2.5yds of wet clay no problem. Have a couple minor leaks to fix, sheet metal reassembly and it will be ready to work. I put water and cascade in the cooling system to clean it up. Will change that a couple times and make sure the oil is gone before I waste any coolant.

Glad to read that you've salvaged the machine. We had a Deere 350G with very similar issues that we spent thousands of dollars with the local Deere dealer and never got it to straighten out. Deere does, or at least did, build what many of the operators I work with consider to be the best excavators for trenching and pipe laying etc.

This is a milestone for me. Now just going to cross my fingers it survives my projects without any more major problems. Have 2 ponds to dig, a bridge replacement, ditch changes, a barn tear down and a pool tear out to do on my property with it. Hoping to still have a good working machine at the end that I can get a chunk of my money back out of.

don't rule out multiple issues, low power compounded by pumps not destroking properly.
Also this engine had problems with the intake to head gaskets failing which allowed boost to escape and drop intake pressure. look at bottom side of aftercooler housing to head usually at rear for gasket problems.
